On the 13 through to the 17^th June this year, the lovely little town of Bruff in Co Limerick will be celebrating the annual Bloomsday Bruff for the 4th year running.  This particular event is unique to the town as it incorporates a re-enactment of the story of Ulysses by James Joyce and is based on the wanderings of its main character Leopard Bloom.   There will be street events, music, a Joycan Breakfast at the local church and a fine Bloomsday Dinner in the evening.  Many of the local people will adorn costumes, typical of 1904 which will give a real feel of going back to that time.  The event is supported by The James Joyce Centre Dublin and has the personal support of Senator David Norris so it’s taken quite seriously in itself but obviously not seriously enough as to not have any fun at all.  There will be plenty of that with costume clad folk, horse driven carriages, three documentaries on James Joyce and singing one of Joyce’s favourite songs into the night.
